Unexpected Joy

I've had such the blues during this transitional period of my life due to divorce.. and the grey and stormy weather of the past few days was not helping any either.    So with clear blue skies and sunshine, I wanted to go out to lunch.. so BFF took me by the post office and then on to Subway.    I had put my mail in the door of her car and after lunch on the way back to the office, lo and behold in the door of her car was my CAMERA that went Missing In Action at Trek Triathlon last October.   I was 99% sure it had made it back to the car with us.. and I know the pair of us tore the car apart looking for it... I even had the Trek Tri Austin folks looking for it.. as it had *ALL* of my On Route pictures and videos on it.    I gave it up for LOST...but today's unexpected JOY was to find it!   Woohoo!!!!  So I'll have to now get the pics transferred... Happy, Happy, Happy!!!!

My Race, My Way

Mama C asked last night if I would do the sprint Triathlon again... 1/2 mile swim; 12 mile bike; 5K run/walk... and I'm thinking Yes, I think so. At the beginning, looking at the Lake with the gorgeous sunrise, I did have the Insanity Monkey on my back and there was a bit of anxiety and double-checking of myself as to whether I should do this thing or not... There were times I wanted to cheat (like come in after only 1 loop on the bike; or turn back early on the run portion).. and times I wanted to quit... like out on the bike... and returning from the bike to face the 5K on foot.. but I kept on going. Lessons learned included to bring a bigger towel to exit the swim portion of the event such as to have a better, cleaner, and more dry spot to stand on and perhaps get the feet a bit dryer before shoving them into socks.. perhaps dry the body a bit better so that the water didn't just follow gravity and drip into my socks making them extremely soggy for the ride and the...

Road Trip

BFF and I are road-tripping to Austin this weekend for the Trek Tri. Normally, I don't bring Jenny Craig along on the road; but after the past month of staying on track and seeing results, I've invited her to go along and will be packing Jenny portables to go with including 3 JC Anytime Bars, 11 fruit servings, Bread & Peanut butter, 1 JC Toffee Cookies, 1 JC Smores bar; 1 JC Tuna Salad Kit, 1 JC Chicken Salad kit, and along the way we'll pick up some skim milk or yogurt. Road trip meals in the past have been pretty much 'anything goes' because I chose to leave Jenny at home. Instead this trip, the plan is Sat/Travel Day Breakfast at home - JC Breakfast Scramble, fruit, milk AM Snack- JC Anytime Bar & fruit Lunch- JC Chicken Salad kit, tossed salad, fruit PM Snack - 1/2 peanut butter sandwich, fruit Dinner- Out/TBD - Light pasta meal PMSnack/dessert JC Toffee Cookies, milk Sun/Event Day Breakfast- Event Day Standard - Egg sandwich, hashbrow...
