MGT6151 Mission Complete

MGT6151-Project Initiation and Planning is complete with an A (officially!)... so maintaining my 4.0 GPA in Graduate level coursework, woohoo!    Next on deck is MGT6154-PM Capstone starting September 8th. The summer seems like it has just flown by!    With my semester ending, the start of the UTD fall session is nearly here ~ they start on Aug 27th.     This means I only have one more summer pizza and movie Wednesday night with my favorite UTD junior. Luckily, I do have plenty else to keep me occupied as I work on my long neglected quilting queue, my holiday knitting, and some rubber stamping too. Plus, I'm sure the kid will be home several weekends and that there will still be a weekly-ish dinner out depending on his stress levels and study schedule-- it's a heavy math semester, so I anticipate it could be high on both counts.   I have every confidence, though, that he will work hard and do well. Also on deck for the fall semester, I'll be doin...

The Trilogy Continues

This week's pizza and movie night was The Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers (2002)...   Another long film; extended battle scenes; but decent film.   I even refrained from making Star Wars commentary.   I mostly restrained myself during The Black Gate scene.. but  will admit to sending a text to Mama with what was going thru my head at the time... that I didn't start humming the scene was a small miracle... ROFL!

Movie Night - The Trilogy Begins

So this week I scrambled to complete my homework so that my summer Pizza & Movie Night with Hunter to start The Lord of the Rings trilogy would be unaffected... woohoo, got that done.   I enjoyed it and am looking forward to the next installment... but here was a FB thread on my thoughts... ME: My viewing companion did not appreciate my comparisons of some scenes in Fellowship of the Rings to some in Star Wars (Episode IV)... Mama:  He said you were wrong. Deb:  that I'd have to hear...might be interesting! Hunter:  In case you were wondering, the book of the Fellowship of the Rings was published in 1954, 23 years before Star Wars Episode  IV. So the notion that they "stole this from Star Wars" is about as ignorant as saying the concepts were stolen from Harry Potter. Mama:  Ahhh, I don't have a horse in this race. I am enjoying sitting on the sidelines this week and hearing the banter while I quilt. ME: I never said it was st...

Pizza and Movie Night

During our Alaskan Adventures and some other time at home since then, Hunter has discovered that I am sorely lacking in some areas of television and film viewing history.   Pizza and Survivor/CBS lineup night with Mama has morphed into Pizza and Movie Night with Hunter (and Mama...and Harrison, if he's home). The first Movie Night date Hunter had intended for us to start with the Lord of the Rings trilogy.  However, he discovered that his brother had taken his DVD's to the apartment (without permission or notification for that matter)... and so we ended up watching A-Team (the movie version)... which still made for a great movie night. Last week's Movie Night turned into watching episodes from Scrubs, Season 1 until the guys arrived...Since Kyle is in Austin for most of the summer, I had told Hunter he could ditch our Movie Night date as I would be here all summer long and Kyle would not.   It was great to hear the laughter of Hunter, Harrison, Stewart, and Kyle ...
