On Sept 17, this beautiful Siamese-Torti mix nearing her 14th birthday (in December) crossed the Rainbow Bridge with assistance from Dr. Friend at Allen Veterinary Center. Although this pandemic year has been different, the silver lining is that I have been working from home since mid-March. As such, I have spent more time with both Mocha and her younger brother Tazzy than had I been working from the office. I was able to see the decline in Mocha's quality of life. I had hoped that it would be something treatable like the angel before her Tracer's thyroid cancer. However, the large abdominal tumor and the unlikely survivability of treatment combined with her age and her enjoyment of life made the decision to grant her a peaceful passing the responsible one. It is the hardest of decisions we make on behalf of our beloved pets, but it is a lesson that my Dad taught me early in life when I lost my first beloved St. Bernard. Run pa...
