Left out in the dark with the early 100 milers to beat the heat.  Made the 25mile turnoff around 7...hit Shepherd AFB by 8 and back to the car by 8:30. Was any easy Zone 3 cruise and a beautiful sunrise ride.

Getting ready to roll Sagging Lunchtime Fighting through the last 4 miles of yesterday's ride, I wasn't sure I would be up for Day 2.   Got an early start to beat the heat.  Hilly, humid, and getting hotter by the minute.    I had to stop after about an hour to apply chamois cream aka butt butt'r to the place where leg meets groin...I am sure it looked fairly lewd but the only ones to see were Mina and maybe some cows...It is definitely NOT a place where anyone should chafe.   In spite of this application, by the time we hit the first rest stop at about 2hours in, it was starting to feel like a dime sized open blister and growing.  Sent Mina on her way while I rested up... and while resting, I decided to call it a day rather than suffer further injury in a sensitive area.   Curtis, a volunteer and a medic, at that stop agreed with that assessment...so I live to ride again another day.  At least got 2 hours of rid...

ling 2011 After a cold shower!!!  Even managed to shed my cycling clothes first...though I wasw almost hot enough to just shower in clothes and all.

Cy 2011 edition...32 of the hottest miles I have ridden outside of Wichita Falls...and in Hill Country too.   Only had to walk a few of the more evil ones.  Thought about sagging the last 7miles, but didn't.

Cheesy Riders jersey pick up day is one of my favorite days of the cycling season.. it signifies that at least 1 of my charity rides, typically Bike MS DFW,  has been fully funded.. .and it's fun to see what design the Pepsico folks came up with for the team.   This year's jersey is made to look like a denim biker's vest over the Cheesy spots. The 3 Signature Events for the Cheesy Riders are 1) Bike MS benefiting the National MS Society; Note the additional logo signifying that Cheesy Riders is a Million Dollar team!!!! 2) Wish 100 (in its 3rd year!) benefiting the Make a Wish Foundation of North Texas; 3) LiveSTRONG Challenge (Austin) benefiting cancer patients and families through the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
