DFW Yarn Crawl Part 4

After Fiber Circle, it was a quick trip up to Fancy Fibers.. a nifty little working-farm shop geared towards spinners.   The owner was out on an errand, but 2 other crawlers and I met one of her very friendly farm cats.

DFW Yarn Crawl - Day 2

Day 2 of the DFW Yarn Crawl found me at White Rock Weaving Center where the owner gave me a one-on-one tour of her small shop.   I could already tell that weaving would not give me the same zen as knitting and her other big craft is spinning which I have previously vetoed after taking a spinning class at DFW Fiber Fest.   Still, the owner was very nice and it's nice to know where this shop is in case I run into a weaver or spinner in my yarn travels.  In between White Rock Weaving & Craft Center and Holley's Yarn Shoppe sits Sprinkles ... and since I am rarely in that part of town, it warranted a stop... they are often imitated, but I still find them to be the most scrumptious.  Today, I picked up one of my fav's (black and white) and then a peanut butter chocolate that was oh so yummy! DFW Yarn Crawl - Day 1

Jacob's Reward Farm put together a DFW Yarn Crawl going on Oct 5 - 19.   I had taken Oct 5 off from the office since the big Hill Country Yarn Crawl was that weekend as well.    After getting mostly unpacked, it's fairly clear that I do not need to add to my yarn stash... so I had already decided NOT to trek to Austin/San Antonio for the HCYC... but when one is organized in your own backyard, what's a gal to do?  So I fueled up the jeep and hit the road!  My first stop was Jenning Street Yarns in Ft. Worth.  Of all my stops for the day, this one would turn out to be my favorite.   A relatively small shop, but packed with lots of goodies! They gave me a free tote and I left with a new skein of some Olive yarn with wooden beads and a pattern by the shop owner to make a scarf for Mama C - because she really does love her hand knit scarves in all shades.     And also an early Christmas present to myself, a Shawl-in-a-Box kit...
