Go Go Dynamo

Go Go Dynamo is Stephen West's 2024 Mystery Knitalong (MKAL) Shawl  I had originally selected these colors to go into his Starflake shawl which was his MKAL in 2019.   I never got around to knitting that one, but it's in my project queue to get to someday.  I cast on Oct 3 2024 and was keeping pace but then put it on hold from Nov 9 2024 to Jan 19 2025 while I worked on some other projects like Stephen West's Fiber Fest Shawl as a sample for one of my favorite indie dyers that just launched her own small business; Knitmas 2024; and the Witch's Brew cowl.  The black yarn is Lazy Cat Yarn on their Luminosity base in Event Horizon; the Quick Fling (pink) is from Long Dog Yarn in their Bounce Sock base; and as my "mohair dare" I added in Bronte base from Olive & Two Ewe Studios in teh color Stargazer.  Stephen West shawls are an undertaking for sure -- but the results are showstoppers for sure!

Trust Fall Shawl

My latest project off the needles and awaiting blocking is the Trust Fall Shawl by Jessica Ays of Double the Stitches.  Pattern on Ravelry at   https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/trust-fall-shawl Yarn is from my stash - from Blue Mule Fiber from an old Loops Club monthly blue bag kit - colorway is Loopy Cowgirl plus 3 sample skeins that were created while the dyer was developing the final club colorway.   I was blessed to be gifted those skeins from my friend Shelley B as part of her move from Tulsa to Florida included downsizing her stash to friends.

Reduction in Force

Reduction in Force aka Layoff is just not fun... it's not fun for those that get the boot and it's not fun for those that are spared the cut....  The work doesn't magically disappear with the booted people, so those left behind get to absorb more work.  In this case, I was one on the unfortunate boot list... and so a search for #whatsmynext begins  Notified on Apr 3 that Apr 17 would be my last day... sigh... I was hoping this would last a while longer.
