Knitting

Yes, I've finally got some knitting time in! I've got V's sweater completed with buttons; just needs to be thrown in the laundry. I hope to get big brother's matching sweater sewn together and ready for collar and button bands. I finished 2 blankets for M's pregnant family members and those have even had all their evil little tails woven in and laundered. I'm about to sew all the little bobbles onto Z's gumdrop sweater and matching hat and it will go in the laundry as well. I've got K's sundress on needles for her birthday in June. I sent a birthday package home to M and "Auntie" L was also smart enough to send home a fun package for his little sister even though it's not her b'day (but ya know, 3 1/2 year olds can get cranky when someone else gets all the attention). Had a blast at the knitting shop yesterday and only came home with 1 pattern book and a set of Addi Turbo needles. Got to enjoy my knitting time while I can since s...

Happy Dance

Oh what joy, a 1 pound loss at TOPS tonight... so I'm sure the cycling is paying off...now to get back on track with the nutritional aspects... Truthfully, I've just been eating whatever I have felt like with all the cycling that's been going on... but nothing that's been out of control.... and no binge eating which is a victory itself. My JC Centre finally called to check in on me... duh, it's probably been 3+ weeks since I've been in.. I normally weigh-in at JC on the weekends.. was on Saturdays but then I moved to Sundays so that I could free-up Saturdays to ride with Plano Bicycling Association's novice ride.. and then I didn't end up doing that since my cycling partner and I have been managing to get to WRL to loop the lake or hit the gym. So I then moved weigh-in to Thursday ~ since the MS150 training schedule has the weekends tied up & since my counselor works that day plus it is a Rest day from all the cycling.. but I forgot my appointme...

Knitting Update

V's sweater is now sewn together and button bands and collar are complete and all ends woven in, yippee... that weaving thing is not the fun part of knitting that's for sure... at least I'm smart enough to leave the loose ends long enough to weave decently. Now all that's left is to sew in the buttons, which I finally found some nice and not too fru-fru girly buttons at Hancock's fabric store. I's sweater-- I've successfully uncast both sleeves which I knit to the pattern size at 13 inches; but measured the young man when he was on spring break and learned I needed to extend them by another 3 inches... that's why I hadn't done the sewing yet... so now I'm working on the sleeves, then sewing, then the button bands and collar, and finish with the buttons. Z's gumdrop sweater-- Ha, this one is done except for sewing in the pockets and sewing on the buttons and all the fru-fru girly embellishments~ flowers and buttons Z's gumdrop hat-- Fin...

Knitting News

Ok , with all the cycling and the drama with my Tracer, I haven't posted much about my knitting projects... right now I've got 3 sweaters all about in the same state... Z's sweater is now seamed; collar and button bands are done; need only to sew in the pockets, the buttons, and the embellishments. V's sweater is now seamed; and needs only the collar, button bands, and weaving of the ends. I's sweater pieces are done; but his Mom wasn't sure if the sleeves would be long enough and has been promising to bring in one of his sweaters like forever.. but today she did even better, since her kiddo is on spring break she brought him by the office and Auntie Loni was able to measure and indeed, now need to uncast the sleeves and add on about another 4 inches to each... but at least the body pieces will fit and he took at look at Baby Brother V's sweater and agreed it should fit V. The first of 3 blankets for M's prego friends is now past the halfway point. M...

Knitting projects

Oh my goodness, 5 projects on needles in various stages of completion... I's sweater; major pieces are completed; have sewing, button bands & collar to complete. V's sweater to match Ivan's: have sewn the shoulder seams; need to sew in the sleeves and side seams; and knit the button bands and collar Z's sweater- which I started on the Kauai trip as I didn't want to have to sew during my vacation. This one now has the back complete, both front panels complete, the shoulder seams are sewn, I should finish one sleeve tonight during The Oscars and cast on the other sleeve. Then all that will be left is the sewing; and the finishing duplicate stitch details and to cast on the matching Gumdrop cap. My cabled scarf using baby alpaca yarn; I'm over the half-way point as I worked on this project during the flight time to and from Kauai; makes for a nice little project. Plymouth Encore 8-hour baby blanket for one of M's prego family members (the first of thre...
