2012 Goals and Twenty Wishes

Happy New Year!!!   Welcome 2012!! It's no secret that 2011 was an emotionally tough year for me with the end of my 20-year marriage.   But life goes on.  I'm settling into a new home and a new routine.  Mocha seems to be settling down though she is still a bit skittish when visitors come over.  I've got family that loves me and trips to both Hawaii and Alaska slated for this year. On the weight-loss front, I was doing well in 2011 until my world kind of spun into what felt like a zillion directions.   But I've been back on track lately with some small losses through the holiday season and will be back at the gym and Bikin' Mike's studio this week.   I'll also be more diligent in my use of my Body Media Fit and my Jenny Craig plan. For 2012, my big fitness events will be Bike MS DFW in May; Hotter N Hell in August; and LiveSTRONG Challenge in October.    I had hoped to be the swim leg in another women's triathlon thi...

Happy Dance

Oh what joy, a 1 pound loss at TOPS tonight... so I'm sure the cycling is paying off...now to get back on track with the nutritional aspects... Truthfully, I've just been eating whatever I have felt like with all the cycling that's been going on... but nothing that's been out of control.... and no binge eating which is a victory itself. My JC Centre finally called to check in on me... duh, it's probably been 3+ weeks since I've been in.. I normally weigh-in at JC on the weekends.. was on Saturdays but then I moved to Sundays so that I could free-up Saturdays to ride with Plano Bicycling Association's novice ride.. and then I didn't end up doing that since my cycling partner and I have been managing to get to WRL to loop the lake or hit the gym. So I then moved weigh-in to Thursday ~ since the MS150 training schedule has the weekends tied up & since my counselor works that day plus it is a Rest day from all the cycling.. but I forgot my appointme...

Midway thru 2007!!!

Oh geez, it's already the halfway point of the year and time to re-visit those goals... My goals for 2007 Knit/Crochet 1 item for charity for every pound I lose this year with a goal of 25 pounds! Ok, I've got 19 items for charity completed; not doing so well on the weight loss part. Follow the Jenny Craig Program to lose those extra pounds -- Ok, to be honest I've been follwoing the program off and on; but am back on and have dropped to the 1500 calorie level from the 1700 calorie level.. as I've managed to basically just maintain at 1700. Ride in the DFW MS150 cycling tour in May.. Completed about 32 miles across the 2 days in May and was able to EXCEED my fundraising goal. The minimum was $300 and I managed $350. Ride the 25 mile short route of the Hotter than Hell 100 cycling tour in August. --Ok, I am still planning to do this; though my best girlfriend who is also my best diet buddy, cycling partner & workout partner has a torn meniscus and we're waiti...
