Snow Day

I think I last saw this much cold weather and snow back in our first Texas winter in 1977. We were at 4 1/2 inches of snow and still falling this morning.

Cortisol through the roof

Ok, if cortisol really is released when under stress, then mine went through the roof as I made the drive to DFW to pick up the last of the senior entourage arriving from Las Vegas. I made it there in an hour; and had an hour to spare before their arrival time. Most of the major road/highway areas were clear; but the bridges were extremely patchy.. we've been below freezing for some 66+ hours... got them home and the route to their home was quite clear... what a difference 20 to 25 miles to the south can make. They were quite happy with their extended vacation and mini-family reunion on the Aurora's side of the family. Then back towards my home and it seemed to take forever once I turned NORTH... lots of icy patches on bridges and on the roads... and crazy people blowing past you at 70... WTH??? There is still ICE on the Bridge dude?. I sure am glad to be home as it just started snowing... and a repeat trip tomorrow to pick up another inbound traveler and possibl...

Rare sight

Quite the rare sight... Inches of snow... rather than just a dusting.. on the car and snow from my office window.

Snow

Snow in Texas!!! This is a picture from DH's flight arriving in El Paso on December 1st.   Yes, you read that right, El Paso... which snow is not usually what you think of when you think of El Paso.  This morning we awoke to SNOW falling in the DFW area too.    It's not sticking to the roadways since the concrete is still warmer than freezing; but we might not be as lucky on Friday when more snow is supposed to arrive.

Snow Day!

A very rare picture of my neighborhood with SNOW ! Too bad we didn't get enough to get a Snow Day at the office.
