Allen - Relay for Life

In January, I was blessed to be in Hawaii celebrating my grandmother's 101st birthday whilst others were here at home in Dallas remembering our friend  John Robbe  with root beer floats and other fun beverages.  Today, I participate in my first American Cancer Society Relay for Life and remember my friend. His love of good food, good wine, good friends, lots of laughter, and totally kicking my butt at midnight games of Words with Friends :)  Let's fight together so that no family loses another birthday to cancer.  Make a tax deductible donation here

Operation Write Home Memorial Day Hop 2013

Operation Write Home Blog Hop Welcome to Loni's Life and a quick stop on the Operation Write Home Memorial Day Weekend Blog Hop 2013 edition.    I am an Independent Stampin' Up! demonstrator and enjoy hand-stamping greeting cards for all occasions.  I realize that our military folks that are far from home don't have the convenience of a Hallmark store or card section at their local grocery store or convenience shop.   So I put my love of stamping to good use by sending OWH cards for our Heroes to use to send notes of love and care to their loved ones back home.  I know these Heroes enjoy picking out the cards for their loved ones and I know the loved ones back at home cherish each note or card they receive from their hero.    Based on OWH Sketch Challenge #171 Stamps: Million Dollar Moments (Spring 2013 Hostess set) Ink: Island Indigo Paper: Island Indigo, Pool Party, Not Quite Navy, Naturals White, Quatrefancy Specia...

Armed Forces Medley

Enjoy this Armed Forces Medley performed by Marina Arsenijevic, West Point Cadet Glee Club and the West Point Band. My thanks to all the Men and Women in the Armed Services who serve our country and especially to those who have given their lives to serve and protect. Enjoy the Operation Write Home Blog Hop .

Mocha Monday 20130520

Mocha is getting used to having Tazzy in our lives.   She actually engaged in play with him this weekend and let him snuggle up with her to sleep.   When she gets tired of his frenetic kitten energy, she takes refuge on the high shelf in the laundry room or gives him a good swat and a big hiss and he backs off. Winner for Blog Candy #1 for this week is Stace. Chance to win Blog Candy #2 for this week still open on this post through Wednesday.

VC Rocks 2013 Weekly Challenge 03

Not Quite Navy; Garden Green;  More Mustard;  CajunCraze;  Elegant Eggplant My Digital Studio to the rescue with this challenge! I've used Not Quite Navy as the base; the images from Thoughts and Prayers with the leaves brushed in Garden Green, Cajun Craze, and More Mustard.

VC Rocks - Hostess Gift of Chocolate

I was inspired by Stace's Hostess gift  and went back to an  old favorite tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers and played with some sneak peek items from the upcoming 2013-14 Idea Book & Catalog.  The box base is in Island Indigo and decorated with Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper; Label Love image stamped in Island Indigo ink on Naturals White cardstock and punched using the coordinating Artisan Label punch, Stampin' Dimensionals.  This mini-box fits 4 Ghiradelli chocolate squares perfectly.  Leave a happy comment by Wednesday 5/22 10PM Central and Tazzy will pick a Blog Candy winner on Thursday.

VCRocks Blog Hop - Hostess Gifts

Welcome to Loni's Life and the first of 4 Blog Hops to celebrate VC Rocks this summer!  This hop features Hostess Gifts and Booking Incentives just in time for the new 2013-14 Idea Book and Catalog launch on June 1st!  Here's a terrific little gift using Stampin' Up! fabric :) 1- You will need 3 pieces of fabric at 4" x 5 3/4"  and 2 pieces at 4" x 4"; the SU fabric packages work great because you get 3 coordinating fabrics in one package and you can cut several of these at once (especially if you have a wonderful quilting friend) 2 - You will fold the 4x4 pieces in half (right sides out) and finger press to 2 x 4; you will take the 2 pieces of 4 x 5 3/4 in the coordinating fabrics that are different from the 4x4 pieces and fold in half to 2 x 5 3/4 with the right sides facing out and finger press.    (Or if you have a wonderful quilting friend helping you, you can get all fancy and hot press with an iron if you choose) 3. Now...
