Survivor One World, Week 3

Hooray, the women's tribe isn't a bunch of total losers after all... oh, quite a bit whiney and apt to use their feminine charms to get a little fire.. but at least they finally won not one challenge, but two!    Totally smoked the men in the Reward challenge for a canoe and fishing gear ~ though I would sooooo let the men use that canoe on the agreement that there is a shared catch... and then a come-from-behind win on a challenge that was part communication (the caller gets the blind tribemates to fetch puzzle pieces along an obstacle course) and part puzzle solving (caller then has to put together the puzzle). So the men were off to Tribal Council.. and in the end they got rid of Matt... it will be interesting to see how the men use or don't use Colton's not-so-hidden immunity idol.    Personally, I would have kept Matt around for strength and gotten rid of Troyzan or Tarzan as older liabilities on the tribe... and besides, Matt was much better eye can...

Survivor One World, Week 2

Ok, if it keeps up like this, I'd expect the Women's tribe to go down in flames... well not really flames because they can't fricken make fire... but they are going to just get dismally beat every week if it keeps up like this.  Also, Colton gets my vote for most irritating Survivor player eve ~ outcast by both the men's tribe and the women's.

Spoiled

Mama's youngest was having a rough day yesterday... and that triggered "Auntie" Mina to shop a bit... and one thing led to another on her mini-spree... and he ended up with a Target re-usable grocery bag full of munchies like Pringles, Twix, cheddar crackers, and then his most favorite of all - cards for Magic The Gathering...  So it's not just me that "spoils" Mama's kiddos.. the other Auntie does it too.   It's just that I am in town more often than she is.    Mama's boys are easy to love and easy to spoil.     Of course, Mama is easily spoiled.. as are Mina and I in return.  I am very blessed to have them all in my life.

Mama's on a roll

Mama C is on a roll... and she got to open a gift pack last night since she had a loss at TOPS.   She had her choice of 2 different, specific packages last night... one to celebrate last night's loss and one to celebrate an upcoming milestone.   One was selected by our friend Deb... so Mama could either open it immediately or use it as an incentive to stay on track to reach that next milestone; the other was in a USPS medium flat rate box i.e. somewhat larger than the normal small gift in the gift grab bag.   Mama opted to open the one that had been picked by our friend Deb ~ the Woot T below.     Congrats Mama and many thanks for the notification Deb!  Congrats to Mama for staying on track... you're gonna love what's in the package you chose as your special milestone incentive package!    I'm proud of you!!!

Happy President's Day!  Here's Mocha hanging out in one of her favorite places ~ the bedroom, stretched out on an electric blanket.  The winner of the SU Stars Stampin' Spaces Blog Candy is Patrice H who said:  "Glad to see you are getting settled in to your new home. I know this summer you will be ready to roll. You have such a great space to play in."  Have a great week everyone!  ' '

Stampin Spaces Blog Hop

Howdy friends!   Most likely you've landed here from Denise Foor's Stampin' Studio  and you are hopping along the SU Stars Stampin Spaces blog hop... else, you are one of my family or friends just stopping by to see what I'm up to these days.   In either case, welcome to Loni's Life!    The hop officially starts on Saturday at 10AM Eastern, so some links may not be live until then. To tell the truth, it's been months since I've actually stamped.   I was away from my old home during the separation/divorce process from May through November last year.   Then I located to a new home and I have yet to get fully unpacked.  However, here's a few shots of my new stampin' space (which could have been used as a bedroom)... along with my great dining room which has plenty of room to hold classes and workshops (which was one of the things I liked most about the space when I was hunting for new living space) Closet (open) with file cabinet for paper sto...

Survivor, One World

Survivor, One World - First Impressions Men vs. Women... We've done this before; but it is interesting when they are on just one beach. One Beach... Hmm, we've done that one before, though the tribes thought they were merged and it turned out they weren't. Redemption Island - Gone... good, it really is a bit of a different dynamic in the game when you vote someone they are out vs. when you vote someone out they have a chance to come back.   Maybe they will go back to a final two to the jury. Women's Tribe - Generally wimpy so far.   Though I like the gal that caught the chickens and the one that is the fire keeper.   The Chicago chick is ghetto and can go.  The African American lady seems with it though she may get ditched early by her tribe based on age.  Got a lucky break that they only lost Tattoo Girl from a broken wrist and that Probst didn't have them also vote off someone. Men's Tribe - Early favorite is Leif and possibly Matt the...

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day! It's my first Valentine's Day since 1992 as an unattached person ~But just because I'm now unmarried doesn't mean that my life isn't full with love. I am VERY VERY VERY Blessed to have an ABUNDANCE of Love in my life. I wish health and prosperity and continued love to all my loved ones, today and every day.

Re-Admissions Day

I've been officially re-admitted as a Graduate Student at Amberton University .    I am in the process of going through the formal Educational Assistance paperwork at the office; this time instead of a MBA in General Business, I've re-applied at work under MBA - Project Management.    So I've got 3 hours down; 33 more to go.  Namely because my Bachelor's degree was in Business Administration - Information Systems and Technology so I don't have to take the 12 hours of prerequisite business courses that my BFF had to take when she earned her MBA from Amber.    So here's to a graduation sometime in 2014-2015.

On Track

Post Hawaii, I had a 1 pound loss at JC last Saturday and I feel like I'm on track.   I've got my Body Media Fit monitor on and I've been following my JC plan with the ocassional breaks for pancake or biscuit breakfast with Mama and Hunter -or- for a dinner out.. which I think tonight may be Joe's Italian :) My plantar fasciitis pain was alleviated by a visit to Dr. Ashton last Friday and a good ol' shot of cortisone.   My cholesterol count was down enough that I don't have to go back until my physical in June.. which turns out will be a birthday pap smear kind of day, oh joy. Mocha and I are getting settled into a routine and I'll be tackling more unpacking and organizing in the weeks ahead.

Something new

Mama C invited me to attend an embroidery class last night.    It was something new to try.. and though I still prefer knitting to all else, it was challenging and interesting.   The woman that is teaching is hilarious and encouraging to everyone ~ even if all you did was snarl up your thread and make a big wonky knot in the thing.   We got thru running stitch, some workhorse stitch that I forget the name of, french knot, and daisy petals.   I shall endeavor to get my practice stitches done sometime this week.
