Big Ouchies!

With the MS150 cycling tour next weekend, Mina and I did 2 loops around White Rock Lake yesterday for nearly 20 miles. We were set to do another 20 or possibly 30 miles today.. but I had a pretty spectacular crash at the bottom of the hill at the bridge across the spillway. Thankfully, the pack of bikers behind me didn't run me over or crash also. They were all super nice and made sure I was up and going and each one in the pack checked on me as well. They even recognized us on the other side of the lake and asked if I was doing OK. I've got black and blue marks and one heck of a scrape across my left elbow.. was one of the longest 4 1/2 miles back to the car ever... for a while there I even thought it beat the last 5 miles of the 25 miles short course of Hotter than Hell. Pretty much my left arm from shoulder to wrist to a heckuva beating and my right inner thigh also sporting black and blue marks. Pretty much, right now I'm learning how much I take that left...

MS150 2 weeks away

Oh my gosh, it's only 2 weeks away... we were truly blessed with some gorgeous weather here in the DFW area. Me and my best girlfriend did 14 miles on our bikes today.. and felt darn good afterwards... pretty good considering she's coming off a 3-week mandatory no-cardio period due to achilles tendon injuries from racquetball and me from 2-weeks off due to sprained ankle and shoulder. Hopefully, we will be blessed with great weather the weekend of the ride as well.

Basketweave Blankie

After what seems like forever in miles and miles of pink acrylic/wool blend... I finally cast-off the Basketweave Baby Blanket that I cast-on in November (2006)... ok, so there were some other distractions in there such as a hat for a co-worker; baby Vladi's hats; 4 scarves; 4 baby sweaters; a baby vest; and a baby sundress; another baby vest on needles; baby booties (Debby Ware Bunny Booties) also on needles.

Ok, I have spent a lot of time knitting since I learned how to do garments and havent' taken the time to stamp. So off to SplitcoastStampers for some inspiration. Here is Technique Lovers Challenge #110 - Faux Shaving Cream

April Fool's Day

Well, it is April 1st and less than 5 weeks to go for the DFW MS150. New plan of action is that my best girlfriend and I are aiming to reach the lunch spot each day and shuttle in to the finish line. Tax deductible donations can be made online at http://ms150.org/edon.cfm?id=192605 The weather has been nice this weekend; I've gotten out for a bit of walking and some fresh air. Poor hubby has been stuck with work all weekend since their building was hit by lightning during the spring storms on Friday night. On the knitting front, I've cast on a new baby tank top for Kaitlyn who turns 1 in June.. my how time flies. I've also managed some more rows on the pink basket weave blanket for Kierra... getting close to the cast off on that one, Yippee!
